Anne Fadiman is an award-winning author, essayist, and editor known for her insightful and sensitive explorations of cultural differences and her passionate engagement with literature. Her first book, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, received a National Book Critics’ Circle Award and was named one of Slate’s 50 Best Nonfiction Books of the Past 25 Years.
