    Bruce Barcott is the author of several award-winning works of nonfiction including The Measure of a Mountain, The Last Flight of the Scarlet Macaw, and Weed the People. His longform investigations have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Outside, Time, Rolling Stone, Mother Jones, and National Geographic, and his honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Washington State Book Award, a Scripps Environmental Journalism Fellowship and the Malott Prize for Community Activism. Based in Seattle, Barcott currently works as Editorial Lead for Transparency Coalition.ai, where he strives to make the emerging world of AI accessible to a non-technical audience of policymakers, thought leaders, and engaged readers around the world.
