Books by Alison Gopnik

Alison Gopnik is a professor of psychology and affiliate professor of philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley, and a member of the Berkeley AI Research group. A leader in cognitive science, particularly child development, she helped found the field of "theory of mind". Gopnik has received numerous awards, including the APS Lifetime Achievement Award, the Rumelhart Prize, and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She is the author of over 150 journal articles and several books, including the bestsellers The Scientist in the Crib, The Philosophical Baby, and The Gardener and the Carpenter. Gopnik also contributes to publications like The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Scientific American, and her TED Talk has over 5.5 million views. She has been president of the Association for Psychological Science.
