Jana Richman is an author of both fiction and nonfiction, deeply inspired by the landscapes of the American West, particularly the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah. She is the author of the memoir Riding in the Shadows of Saints: A Woman’s Story of Motorcycling the Mormon Trail, and two novels: The Last Cowgirl, winner of the Willa Award for Contemporary Fiction and Utah Artys Best Fiction Book, and The Ordinary Truth, which received a starred review from Booklist. Her collection of personal essays, Finding Stillness in a Noisy World, explores the transformative power of place and the pursuit of peace. Richman's essays have appeared in the New York Times, Creative Nonfiction, and other publications.
