    Nicholas Thompson

Highly fluent in all things tech, Nicholas Thompson is CEO of The Atlantic and the former editor of Wired and the NewYorker.com, and has written widely about technology’s impact on our lives and culture. Though his wheelhouse is the future, Thompson has also explored the past. He is the author of The Hawk and the Dove, which The Washington Post called “a penetrating, amazingly accessible study of the origins and conduct of the Cold War,” and has written about his long friendship with Joseph Stalin’s daughter for The New Yorker. Thompson is also a longtime competitive runner, and in 2021 set an American record in the 50-kilometer race. He’s working on a book about how the mind of a runner works.
