Howard Burton is an author and documentary filmmaker. He holds a PhD in theoretical physics and an MA in philosophy and was the Founding Director of Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. For his award-winning multimedia venture, Ideas Roadshow, he has hosted and filmed conversations with over 100 world-leading researchers across the arts and sciences. From those conversations he has produced a series of 120 enhanced books which provide a unique and fully accessible window into frontline academic research while revealing the inspirations and personal journeys behind the research. In addition he has written six non-fiction books about a wide range of topics and he has created 7 feature-length documentaries: Pandemic Perspectives (2022), Through The Mirror of Chess: A Cultural Exploration (2023), Raphael: A Portrait (2024), Botticelli's Primavera (2025), Raphael's School of Athens (2025), Sofonisba's Chess Game (2025) and Descent: How America Lost Its Mind, Soul & Moral Compass (2025).
